Goodman’s Bar at Bergdorf Goodman — Costantini

Costantini Design was commissioned to design a set of cocktail tables that double as functioning backgammon tables for Goodman’s Bar in Bergdorf lounge in Manhattan.

Shown in an Argentine Rosewood base and top, with an inlay of genuine ebony, sycamore and bird’s-eye maple for the board. It features a tray for cocktails during play and a drawer that holds chips and dice or doubles as additional cocktail space. The base draws inspiration from ancient Mesopotamian headrests, referencing the birthplace of backgammon.

About Bergdorf Goodman

Bergdorf Goodman is one of Manhattan’s most iconic luxury department stores, founded in 1899 by Herman Bergdorf and headquartered in its Beaux-Arts landmark building on Fifth Avenue and 58th Street since 1928. The store occupies the former site of the Cornelius Vanderbilt II Mansion and has been a designated New York City Landmark since 2016. Goodman’s Bar, located on the second floor of Bergdorf Goodman’s Men’s Store, is an intimate space featuring bites from a Michelin-starred chef and an extensive wine list — a refined destination within one of New York’s most storied retail institutions.
