The Key Club Coconut Grove
Costantini collaborated with ICRAVE and Groot Hospitality on custom seating, tile tables, and concrete and fiberglass planters.
The Work
The structure is made of solid wood and has a natural finish to highlight the grain.
The distinctive element is the fabric of the backrests and seat, made with natural fiber cord in a raw color, applied manually using a tensioned wrapping technique, creating a flexible but firm surface.
The upper surface is composed of a mosaic of glazed ceramic tiles. These tiles are contained within a perimeter metal frame.
The base consists of a central pedestal of turned wood, which has a conical shape and a satin finish.
The cylindrical planters, are made of fiberglass, a material that allows for the smooth, lightweight surfaces ideal for the color block designs and abstract patterns that decorate them.
The dark-colored planter, on the other hand, is made of concrete, which gives it that striking and deep honeycomb geometric relief.
About ICRAVE
It's a New York-based experiential design firm led by Lionel Ohayon. Their focus is on how people move, how they interact with light, and how they feel in a space.
Groot Hospitality
It was founded by David Grutman, known as the "King of Miami," and its philosophy is based on what he calls "escapism": creating places where dining feels like a party.
