Kalae Ward Village
Costantini Design developed a custom collection of seating and tables for Kalae Ward Village. Facing the Pacific, the project integrates bespoke furniture into a serene architectural environment inspired by the historic pavilions of the islands.
Kalae Ward Village
The narrative of the space, designed by Nicole Hollis's studio, focuses on the balance between organic architecture and tactile luxury.
The Work
The work captures the duality of island life: the strength of the land and the lightness of the Pacific. Each piece was conceived as a human-scale architectural element, using woven textures and fine woods to create an atmosphere of modern refuge.
It is defined by an exceptional curation of materials that pays homage to tactile craftsmanship. The design intertwines the warmth of natural Argentine Rosewood with meticulous details of handwoven matting and aniline leather straps. This organic richness is balanced by the solidity of patinated cast metal structures and limestone surfaces, achieving a harmony between artisanal heritage and understated elegance.
Nicole Hollis's Studio
She specializes in pushing natural materials to their limits. The use of ebonized woods or dark stones is not intended to conceal the material, but rather to highlight its texture and essence in an almost gothic and contemporary way.
