The Benone Table features a pair of cast bronze bases that are only partially polished to reveal the natural imperfections left by the burnt earth that once surrounded them during the casting process. The top, in contrast, is finished smooth and is shown here in an oval shape with a knife-edge profile. The piece was featured in the Presidential Suite of the Hotel Bel-Air.
